An Israeli technology startup is trying to radically change how teachers and students interact through the use of its new web-based software. The software was developed by a team of educators, software developers, and graphic and creative designers who have created a suite of tools ranging from course planning and classroom management to group collaboration and student assessment. Libraries draw traffic because they generate a large number of repeat visitors that are attending regularly to check out and return books, participate in programs, use public computers, etc. This article explains a number of strategies that can tie a public library into a development that draws traffic. They include:
- Main-street designs used by open-air shopping centers
- An overall design that creates a community icon
- Using the library itself as the icon
- Adding a second anchor in the fashion of a mall

Target School Library Makeover
Target team members will improve over 1,500 school libraries in 2010, with the support of
First Book and
Heart of America. Some libraries with the greatest needs—more than 40 so far—have received a complete School Library Makeover.
Target Commercial Interiors is proud of its role in providing furnishings for these unique, creative and highly functional school library makeovers.
